Joining Alabang Community Toastmasters Club is easy as 1-2-3 !

Number 1

We suggest that you come and see us in action first. Minimum age is 18. Since this is a community club, virtually everybody is welcome.  Have a "look-see" as a guest observer. If possible, call or email in advance to confirm the next meeting date. See the "Contact Us" link in the Main Menu at the left column of this page for information on schedule changes.

And just for coming to see us as a first-timer, you'll get a free copy (past issue) of the Toastmasters magazine for you to take home.

Number 2

Say something about yourself or participate in the various activities of the club meeting. Even as an observer, you are strongly encouraged to join Table Topics (Impromptu Speaking) or even prepare an Icebreaker speech (tell us about yourself).  Do read some of the articles of the complimentary Toastmasters magazine given you.

Number 3

If you like what you see and hear, ask for a membership application in the meeting. Membership at ACT is affordable since you only pay for the standard Toastmasters International fees (convertible to Philippine Peso):

  • $20 new member fee (one-time)
  • $27 dues every six months

The club officer will send your application and fees to Toastmasters’ World Headquarters. You’ll be receiving the new member kit 2 to 3 weeks after Toastmasters International has received your application and payment.

And you're done! Yes, it's THAT easy.

But wait!!! Your new membership fee also pays for the new member kit which is composed of 5 manuals (2 workbooks and 3 guidebooks) that you will find useful. Note: The sizes and front covers of some manuals shown below may vary occasionally.

Here's a brief description of the manuals shown above:

  1. Competent Communication

Toastmasters International's Competent Communication manual (previously known as the Communication and Leadership Program manual) contains 10 projects to be completed in order to earn your Competent Communicator award.

  2. Competent Leadership

The Competent Leadership manual features 10 projects, which you complete while serving in various meeting roles and participating in other club activities such as helping with a newsletter or getting involved with a membership building campaign. An evaluator will give you feedback on each project, helping you to improve.

  3. Your Speaking Voice

A complete how-to guide for improving your voice. Includes exercises for developing proper pitch, rate, variety, tone, volume and articulation.

  4. Gestures: Your Body Speaks

A guide to using gestures, body movement, facial expressions and eye contact when you speak.

  5. Effective Evaluation

Contains an explanation of the Toastmasters' evaluation program with tips for speakers and evaluators and imaginative evaluation programs.

And that's not all!
You'll get the TOASTMASTERS magazine every month - absolutely free!

So, what are you waiting for?  See you at the next meeting !
